Almost a couple weeks ago, one of my favorite tracks re-surfaced after having disappeared from the internet for quite some time. Upon hitting 20K ‘likes’ on Facebook, LA-based Progressive Trance/House producer Michael Badal released two tracks on Soundcloud:

The first – a melodic Prog House bootleg of Ellie Goulding’s “Don’t Say a Word“.

The second – his long lost bootleg remix of indie-rock Eisley’s “Invasion“. Bouncing basslines and almost haunting vocals make for a catchy Prog Trance anthem that deserves to hit every club from here to Ibiza. Originally produced in 2008 for his set at Dreaming in Digital, this wonderful remix has been difficult, if not impossible, to find for a long time.

Sunday Playlist: House Roundup

Finals are fast approaching for some of us so I thought I’d round up some house tunes that have popped up on my shuffle recently. Great for studying or background music if you’re just trying to relax.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Edwards over the Thanksgiving break at a show he had at some warehouse in LA. Great vibes and great vibes from Todd “The God” Edwards.

Les Bijoux put down a bassline that I just can’t get enough of.

If you haven’t heard of Sharam Jey, you’ve been living under a rock. He’s been sampling a lot of old hip-hop and R&B songs and the results are amazing.

One of those deep house tracks that’ll get you through rainy days.

When Claude first debuted this record, the internet went crazy and begged him for a release date. Our wishes were granted last month and this just sounds beautiful in every way.

“A grooving feel good House single.” I couldn’t put it any other way.

The Austin, TX duo Bronze Whale is back at it again, this time teaming up with British Columbia’s Ianborg to grace your collective ears with their new bootleg of The Weeknd‘s “Twenty Eight”. The end result is of such a collaboration is another solid powerhouse of a track for each producer’s already stellar portfolio.

Did I mention that the track is free to download? ‘Cause it is.

Please enjoy. Best served chilled… Probably even better in Washington or Colorado.

Fiasko Daniels – Synesthesia (Original Color Mix)

Fiasko Daniels, the electro prodigy residing in the Bay Area in California, is deeply entrenched in his new EP entitled Synesthesia. The primary single of the EP, also titled “Synesthesia,” was released recently as a sneak preview for the upcoming EP. Fiasko has named the genre Prolectric House as a means of conveying his intriguing progressive and electro fusion. The track has it all: catchy melodys, fat bass lines, and crunchy synths. Rusko – Kapow EP [Free Release]

The English Dubstep King know as Rusko is releasing his newest EP for free in an attempt to get around the restrictions that come from releasing it with one of the large record labels. In a recent discussion with Mixmag, Rusko stated:

“The natural thing for me to do is release ‘KAPOW’ myself. How I want. The way I want and at the speed I want. It’s about promotion and not profit – I want to give the fans the music in real time. If they can help me promote it too then it’s essentially what a label does anyway but just without copyright restrictions. The fans are key in the success of ‘KAPOW’. If you like it, send it to a friend. I just want everyone to be able have my music if they want it.”

This comes in the wake of a less-than-ideal relationship with Mad Decent in the wake of his last release O.M.G! in which he had some pretty harsh rantings targeted towards the label.

Vitalic – Stamina (Le Castle Vania Remix)

For years now, Dylan Eiland (better known as Le Castle Vania) has been gracing the world’s collective ears with Bangers, oftentimes for free. These aren’t just any Bangers, mind you. These are the kind that destroy parties (in the best way possible), give grandmothers headaches and cause circle pits, the last of which I know from personal experience.

Le Castle Vania has always had a distinguishable sound to his tracks. The producer, DJ and label owner‘s latest remix of Vitalic‘s “Stamina” indeed sticks to the LCV signature Banger formula of heavy, rock-infused electro while bringing a fresh tune to the table. The three minute preview was dropped on his SoundCloud yesterday and already looks as though it may pass four thousand plays by end of day. Though the info states that the track is released today, Oct 23rd, I have yet to find it available for download or purchase. I do, however, suggest you keep your eyes peeled for this one.
